How healthy is your heart?

MedicX Pharmacy, located in the state of the art Lytham Primary Care Centre, has launched a new ‘Healthy Heart Service’ for patients, the first of its kind to be offered in the Lytham area. This private consultation costs £25 and takes approximately 20 minutes, with no prior appointment required.

The service is undertaken by a fully trained member of the MedicX Pharmacy team, using the most up-to-date technology. It involves analysis of a patient’s lifestyle, their medical and family history, combined with a measure of their cholesterol, blood glucose levels, blood pressure and body mass index. The results are quick and simple, with each patient provided with an easy to understand written report, which includes tailored advice based on their results.

“The Government is focused on reducing cardiovascular disease and our new ‘Healthy Heart Service’ supports this aim and help people to stay healthy longer. Whilst it is never easy to make lifestyle changes, we will ensure our advice is realistic in helping patients to take the small steps they need to becoming healthier as well as supporting them with any bigger steps they may need to take.” 

Lytham’s MedicX Pharmacy delivers a traditional dispensing service and sale of medicines alongside a range of enhanced pharmacy services. It has three private consultation rooms, a patient information area including a touch screen health information point and a comfortable seating area with a large LCD TV screen showing a dedicated TV health channel. 

For the convenience of patients and visitors to Lytham Primary Care Centre, the MedicX Pharmacy hours mirror the opening hours of the GP surgeries (Monday-Friday 8:30am - 6:00pm and Saturday 8:30am - 12pm).
