Innovative new MedicX Pharmacy opening soon

MedicX Pharmacy has begun the fit out of the new and exciting pharmacy at Ashton under Lyne Primary Care Centre. Ashton pharmacy will be the sixth MedicX pharmacy to open in the North and is expected to be completed by the end of November, ready to welcome patients from Wednesday 1 December 2010.

The pharmacy will offer more than just traditional pharmacy services, having been planned with the specific needs of the local community in mind, enhancing the services already provided at the primary care centre. It will offer blood pressure measurements, diabetes and cholesterol tests, healthy heart checks as well as providing dispensing services and medication advice. Patients will also be welcome to come in and ask for health advice, seven days a week.

The MedicX Pharmacy approach to community focussed pharmacy also includes extended opening hours and the new pharmacy will be open in the morning and evening. These hours have been designed to mirror those of the primary care centre, to make the services accessible to a wider section of the community.
