Rotherham Mayor opens new late night pharmacy

A brand new late night pharmacy designed by MedicX Pharmacy, part of the MedicX Group, was officially opened at the Rotherham Community Health Centre on 12 August 2009 by His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Shaukat Ali.

The new state of the art pharmacy located within the entrance of the Rotherham Community Health Centre in Rotherham Town Centre, is just a short walk from the main bus station and multi storey car park. The pharmacy is open until 10pm every day, 365 days a year and is dedicated to enhancing patient experience, offering three private consultation rooms, a patient information area including a touch screen health-point displaying local health information and a large LCD TV screen showing Life Channel.

Patients can also benefit from a comfortable seating area with armchairs and a high level seating bench for those with limited mobility. His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Shaukat Ali, comments: "It is wonderful to see such a great facility opening in Rotherham. The new Rotherham Community Health Centre opened just over three months ago and this pharmacy is the final piece in the jigsaw in terms of our town's healthcare offering. Steve Jeffers, Director of MedicX Pharmacy, comments: "It is great to see our new Rotherham pharmacy open and providing an important facility to the community by offering extended opening hours and a wide range of traditional and new pharmaceutical services.

MedicX Pharmacy has invested over £200,000 in creating this new pharmacy, which currently employs 10 people and will be increasing to 12 in the near future. "We are proud to be working in partnership with NHS Rotherham in creating a one stop shop for healthcare needs." MedicX Pharmacy provides traditional dispensing services and sales of medicine alongside a full range of enhanced pharmacy services. These additional services include medication reviews, blood pressure testing, blood glucose testing, cholesterol testing and a Healthy Lifestyle Check.
